Preparation of TiO2/WO3/C/N Composite Nanofibers by Electrospinning Using Precursors Soluble in Water and Their Photocatalytic Activity in Visible Light

Extending the absorption range of TiO2 nanofibers to visible light is a great improvement photocatalytic property TiO2. In this study, TiO2/WO3/C/N were prepared by electrospinning using precursors soluble in water then annealing argon. Titanium(IV) bis(ammonium lactato)dihydroxide (TiBALDH) and ammonium metatungstate (AMT) used as precursor for WO3 respectively. Different volume ratios added solution PVP before electrospinning. The fibers studied XPS, SEM-EDX, TEM, FTIR, XRD, Raman spectroscopy UV–VIS diffuse reflectance (DRS). degradation methylene blue was investigated. had anatase monoclinic WO3. Based on DRS Kubelka-Munk function could absorb light. Moreover, 100% TiBALDH an indirect band gap 2.9 eV, decreased with increase AMT, i.e., 0% TiBALDH, 2.4 eV. degraded dye light, 90% highest activity, it 40% after 240 min.
